"I have had a Philips CRT 36" TV for the last 8 years so have had a soft spot for their televisions. This is a review of the Philips 42PFL5604H which overall is a fantastic TV. The 42PFL5604H has 3 HDMI's, 2 scart's, RGB, Component and S video. It also has a USB port which reads MP3's, JPEGS and MPEG4's. Also the 42PFL5604H has a separate audio in for your laptop or any other device that send audio and video down two separate streams. The 42PFL5604H comes in a sleek glossy black with invisible speakers. It looks great and I really love the curved corners.

The Philips 42PFL5604H/12 has a multitude of resolutions up to 1080p for HDMI and 1920x1280 for RGB. The picture is great, bright with no visible blur. Upscaled DVDs look fantastic. Moving from a top of the range CRT with 5.1 surround sound, I know the sound may not be amazing. I have to say it is good at low and medium volumes, but at higher volumes it is not the "bassiest" and for avid movie buffs I suspect a home theatre system will be required. But this is the case for most modern LCD TVs.

The 42PFL5604H/12 has a fantastic graphical user interface with a customisable home menu where you can have all your devices in a menu to easily select rather than continually scrolling through the source button. In addition the options menus are easy to navigate with loads of picture and sound options to suit one's taste. Overall - the Philips 42PFL5604H has a brilliant picture, good sound for an LCD TV, and great connectivity. I give it 5 stars because I think it looks great in a corner of the living room and also has a much better picture than I was expecting on an LCD. I highly recommend Philips 42PFL5604H LCD TV"
